Predviđena temperatura vazduha bila je iznad 5 ✬, pri čemu je možda potreban eutektičan fazno promenljivi materijal da bi se smanjila temperatura u odeljku hladnjaka Predviđene strujne slike i temperaturski profili prilično su se razlikovali za dva položaja fazno promenljivog materijala. CFD simulacija vazdušne struje i raspodele temperature u hladnjaku sa prirodnom konvekcijom je izvršena kako bi se odredio najbolji položaj za postavljanje fazno promenljivog materijala (na gornjem ili na zadnjem zidu). Autonomija hladnjaka je smanjena za 48%, kada je temperatura sredine povećana sa 20 ☌ na 43 ☌, a vreme zamrzavanje sa povećalo za 27% kada je temperatura isparavanja smanjena sa –10 ☌ na –15 ☌.

Rezultati pokazuju da se vreme topljenja i zamrzavanja povećalo proporcionalno sa debljinom fazno promenljivog materijala. Primenom numeričke metode ispitivan je uticaj tri parametra, a to su: debljina fazno promenljivog materijala (FPM), temperatura sredine i temperatura isparavanja.

Metoda entalpije je primenjena kako bi se ispitale brzina oslobađanja i akumulacija toplote inkapsuliranog leda. U ovom radu se ispituje uticaj dodavanja fazno promenljivog materijala u toplotnom kontaktu sa isparivačem u hladnjaku za domaćinstvo sa prirodnom konvekcijom.
